Frequently Asked Questions
Congratulations on purchasing your Toronto Harbour Tour ticket! With your tickets you can come enjoy a cruise on the Toronto Harbour and through the scenic Toronto Islands. It really is the best view in town!
Here we have listed the answers to some Frequently Asked Questions about the tour, and how you can use your ticket.
Q: How can I get tickets for the tour?
A: You can purchase tickets online on our website, or you can simply show up to our dock and purchase tickets for the next available departure. For groups of 10 or more we recommend that you make a booking in advance in order to guarantee your spot.
Q: Where do I go to take the tour?
A: Our dock is located at Pier 6 where the red Beavertails building is. The address is 145 Queens Quay West. This is right at the intersection of York St. and Queen’s Quay West, at the heart of Toronto’s waterfront. It is a short walk, or two streetcar stops from Union Station. Q: When should I arrive for my tour?
A: Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled departure time in order to get checked in and into line. During busy summer months you might want to arrive even earlier. While ticket holders all have a guaranteed seat onboard, seating is first come first serve so the earlier you arrive the more options you will have.
Q: Where can I park?
A: There is no onsite parking, however there are quite a few parking lots within walking distance of our location.

Q: Is the tour narrated?
A: Yes! We think you’ll find we have the best tour guides around! Our tour guides are young, energetic, engaging, and the tour has a very interactive feel. It combines education with entertainment, and you will hear all about the city of Toronto, plus our unique perspective on Toronto’s waterfront and the Toronto Islands.
Q: Does your tour stop on the islands?
The tour is a 50 minute continuous cruise. If you would like to visit the islands, our Water Taxi service is a great way to get you there quickly. This service will be available daily from May to September (subject to weather conditions).
Q: What about small children?
A: Children two and under are FREE. You do not need to purchase a ticket or pay for children two years old or younger.
Q: Are your tour boats wheelchair accessible?
Unfortunately our boats are not wheelchair accessible as there is no ramp to board directly onto the vessel. That being said, some of our vessels may be able to accommodate non-electric chairs so long as they are able to fit. We do have a ramp that will take you right to the boat, but then the wheelchair would need to be lifted on to the boat, and depending on the water level it might be a step up or down onto the vessel. We do have many staff on hand who are able to assist people with limited mobility in getting onto the boat. Whether this is a helping hand, or lifting the wheelchair up and onto the boat if that is something that the person is comfortable with. This, however, is not possible for electric wheelchairs. Please keep in mind some of our boats are more wheelchair accessible than others, and that water conditions and levels vary throughout the season which would further impact accessibility.
Q: Are your water taxis wheelchair accessible?
Unfortunately our water taxis are not wheelchair accessible. There is no boarding ramp onto and off of the boat, and the varying water levels can make it unsafe. If you are looking for a wheelchair accessible way to go over and explore the island we recommend to take the city ferry. The ferry boats are fully wheelchair accessible with a boarding ramp for loading and unloading.
Q: Can I bring my pet with me on the boat?
A: As long as your pet is friendly, and is comfortable on boats and around large groups of people, you may definitely bring them with you. Please make sure that your pet is on a leash or in a pet carrier for the duration of the trip. There is no extra charge to bring your pet with you!
Q: What happens to the tour in bad weather?
A: It may happen that bad weather will alter our tour schedule or require us to shut down tours on a regularly scheduled day. Usually, there are only a handful of days throughout the year in which the tour must be shut down for this reason. If we cancel due to weather, you will have the option to rebook for a different day or to have your ticket refunded.
Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: Tickets can be cancelled and refunded up to 24 hours prior to your scheduled departure. If you need to cancel your booking please call or email us.
It is not possible to get a refund with less than 24 hours notice. In this case we can happily reschedule your tour to a different date. All tickets purchased online are valid up until October 31st of the year of your purchase.
If you are unable to use your ticket(s) due to a cancellation on the part of Toronto Harbour Tours Inc. such as bad weather, or other reasons, you will be entitled to a full refund, or given the option to reschedule for another date within the current year.
If you are a “NO SHOW” for your scheduled tour date and time you will be given the option to reschedule for another date within the current operating season. NO SHOW tickets are non-refundable.
Unused tickets passed October 31st of the purchased year will be non-refundable.
