Frequently Asked Questions
Congratulations on purchasing your Toronto Harbour Tour ticket! With your tickets you can come enjoy a cruise on the Toronto Harbour and through the scenic Toronto Islands. It’s the best view in town!
Here we have listed the answers to some Frequently Asked Questions about the tour, and how you can use your ticket.
Q: Do I need to book in advance to take the tour?
A: No, you do not need to book in advance. You simply show up to our dock ahead of a scheduled departure and show your ticket to our staff. They will get you on the next available departure. Our schedule changes based on the season, so click here to see when the tour departs. We do ask, however, for larger groups of 10 or more to contact us ahead of time to reserve a time.
Please note, our vessels have a maximum capacity that is always adhered to. If the next departure is sold out, you may have to wait until the next departure after. But don’t worry! This does not happen too often, and we have departures leaving every 30 minutes through July and August.
Q: What about small children?
A: Children two and under are FREE. You do not need to purchase a ticket or pay children two years old or younger.
Q: Where do I go to take the tour?
A: Our dock is located at Pier 6, right at the intersection of York St. and Queen’s Quay West, at the heart of Toronto’s waterfront. It is a short walk, or two street car stops from Union Station. Click here for a map of our location.
Q: When Can I take the tour?
A: Your voucher is valid for one time use, and day of the week. Your voucher expires at the end of our season on October 31, 2017.
Q: Can I get off on the islands?
Due to the extensive flooding during the spring/early summer of 2017, we will be unable to offer the ‘island stop’ feature of our tour for the remainder of 2017. Unfortunately, even as the water level drops and the islands will be reopened for August, the dock we use for our islands stop – the ‘Grandstands’ – have been completely damaged from the high waters, and are currently unsafe to use. We expect, however, to be back to normal and stopping on the islands once again starting in the 2018 season.
However, if you want a trip to the islands, the city will be reopening parts of the islands as of July 31, and our Water Taxi service is a great way to get you there quickly. This service will be available daily from July 31 to Monday September 5th.
Q: Is the tour narrated?
A: Yes! We think you’ll find we have the best tour guides around! Our tour guides are young, energetic, engaging, and the tour has a very interactive feel. It combines education with entertainment, and you will hear all about the city of Toronto, plus our unique perspective on Toronto’s waterfront and the Toronto Islands.
Q: What happens to the tour in bad weather?
A: It may happen that bad weather will alter our tour schedule or require us to shut down tours on a regularly scheduled day. Usually there are only a handful of days throughout the year in which the tour must be shut down for this reason. If a tour is canceled and you have tried to use your Groupon ticket, don’t worry, your ticket is good any time throughout the 2017 season.
